I discovered Joomla website manager www.joomla.org

It’s a freeware website content manager. It does to websites what Wordpress/Blogivists does to blogs. I think I need a real website. The blog thing is not enough anymore by itself. I hate to see good material rolling off into the past.

I am truly looking forward to having such an easy-to-manage site. It feels like two hours is plenty of time to get it off the ground.
This will be fun! I just hope it can work with this blog so it can stay in the blogivists community.

How did it come about?
It’s from www.forthegoodofillinois.org (again :) )
I found a district near my district with a similar profile AND on the transparency honor roll.
so I figured I’d print their check register to show at my board’s December 2nd meeting.
It’s Oak Grove District 68 – www.ogschool.org

Their website looks clean and full of info.

They use Joomla. No doubt some website company really wanted the money that the district did not spend on their proprietary website management tool.  My commends to the frugal district management and IT!

It is just what my dream site wants to be. I really want to do this.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Mike
